We are here in Provence for 6 nights. Provence is one of my most favourite places in the world.
How good was it to unpack completely, get some washing done and then just mosey about at a slow pace, knowing that we have an abundance of time here.
Ten out of ten yet again for accommodation...large spacious apartment within the old walled city, superb kitchen, a bath...comfy furniture to laze on (Badger is having a 'power nap' as I write this...pretty powerful power nap...he's been asleep for nearly an hour) . Walking distance to all the cafes, restaurants etc. etc.
But wait there is more...it has secure on site parking, in a garage...and and and..it had a lift...a jolly lift. Both the last things have been unheard of before in all the old buildings we have stayed in.
After the unpacking etc. we had a stroll to get our bearings. We had a coffee at a little cafe by this water wheel, lovely hearing the gentle splashing, birds chirping and the smell of spring blossoms in the air...(archooo, snif fsniff)
The building is a part of the Popes House...a palace basically....huuuge. He lived in Provence at some time apparently.
We picked up some crusty bread and fresh vegetables and I have made some soup for dinner....it's all I can face...the food has been tres' magnifique...but rich and a lot of it....so a break is needed.
Tomorrow however is another day. Hmmmm? but the market is on in the morning...all that fresh food...seafood, meat and fruit and vegetables, not to mention the spices. I'm thinking it may just be another night in?????
