Up close and personal in Paris

Here we are in Paris...in a traffic jam. Oh my goodness. We picked up the little Pergot ( brand new little cutie with 3 K on the clock)... about 2 & 1/2 hours ago...
It is madness utter utter madness.. Like dodgem cars.
The Badger is the original 'ice man' so God bless him, he is coping.  If it was me, I'd have either jumped out waving my hands in the air hysterically and dribbling while shouting ' abandon ship...save yourselves ' or else resigned myself to spending the rest of my life on a flipping roundabout... Well until the petrol ran out anyway.
So 2&1/2 hours later...we are 20 minutes from the Gar Du Nord railway station, which was at commencement of this nightmare....according to Carmen the Garmin...the GPS... Who...isn't helping much anyway by saying ' keep left and keep right' what the????? Stay in the middle then? I think she is just making it up as she goes along.
Anyway.. We get to Boudeaux yet...
Mind you...it took us an age just to get out of the carpark... an idjit at the car rental...(Hertz again)...didn't give us both tickets to operate the boom gates.  Why would you need 2 jolly tickets to get out of a car park???? What sort of idjit though that one up?
What a flipping day anyway.
We got up early to have a leisurely start,  got to Hertz drop off on time...but the driver to get us to the train was late.  Combined with some other idjit at the booking office hadn't allowed for peak hour traffic in London... Things were looking grim.
Our driver through sheer determination and skill..got us to St Pancras station for the Eurostar about 2 minutes to departure... It was a mad dash through the gates etc to board but we made it.
Update.. In 3 hours mow...we've done 27km. Jhsheeesh!!!
Whooohooty.. Hello.. Finally in 4th gear...and now...5 yippee... 110 km p h...
On our way!!!!
